On Monday the global alert level for swine flu was raised by the World Health Organisation. This indicates that the virus is spreading from human to human. It has stopped short, though, of being declared a pandemic.
Travellers are being advised not to travel to Mexico and parts of the US unless necessary.
In Mexico, the epicentre of the outbreak, there have been 152 deaths which are linked to the virus. Over 1600 cases are suspected and 50 have been confirmd in the US.
Reports today, Tuesday, are that a visitor to Walt Disney World had the virus but these reports are unconfirmed.
President Obama said about the swine flu in general that the threat is a cause for concern but not for alarm.
